About Cranfield Community Centre

Cranfield Community Centre is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Charity Number 1188795). Run and managed by our trustees, our core mission is to operate and maintain a versatile facility for the direct benefit of the local community. We provide a safe, accessible environment that supports local initiatives, active recreation, and community well-being in Central Bedfordshire.

History

Built as part of the Home Farm Development, Cranfield Community Centre opened as a modern, purpose-built venue in 2020. The facility was officially transferred into the ownership of the Cranfield Parish Council in February 2020. Following this transfer, it was registered as a charitable entity with the Charity Commission for England and Wales to establish a formal operational framework for long-term community support and structured management.

Present

The venue is managed entirely by a board of trustees focused on delivering practical benefits and maintaining the facilities for daily community use. The centre facilitates active youth and adult sports programmes, which includes hosting a local Taekwondo club every Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Furthermore, the centre operates as a designated community warm space in partnership with Central Bedfordshire Council, supporting vulnerable residents year-round. It also provides an adaptable venue featuring a large function hall, meeting room, and fully equipped kitchen and bar area for private events, civic meetings, and social functions. We maintain ongoing community outreach, scheduling, and operational updates through our official Facebook and Instagram channels.

Future

Our primary strategic development initiative for 2026 is the comprehensive preparation and enhancement of the adjacent playing fields. This project is focused on delivering dedicated, high-quality outdoor sporting facilities specifically designed for local youth cricket and football clubs.
